We are deep into this console generation and I learn one thing a basic controller is more enjoyable than motion controls (The truth comes out Sony and Nintendo). I was wondering where can consoles go after this. Would they go back to regular controllers or will they have motion sensors that are horrible or maybe some decent motion controls. The next-generation should bring enough innovation to keep us busy. Maybe, if we are lucky, Nintendo will upgrade its graphics and will stop worry about little kids and create a decent internet browser and good internet gaming. Mircosoft just needs to keep doing what it is doing and not get arrogant (Sony!). Sony should start the generation with a lower price.
So How should consoles advance into the next generation?

Better Games, Cheaper costs is a big one, and lastly more interactive games as in moveable enviroments like there was in Half Life with the gravity gun!
I believe that in the graphics department, the developers will focus on realistic facial animation and lighting (with such techniques as ray tracing. This will truly help the detail reach photorealism, but it requires tons of processing power.
In the gameplay department, I believe we will see even more DLC, and even some games fully supported by advertisements (such as EA's upcoming Battlefield Heroes.
As for the fate of consoles, I believe they will overtake the PC in the home, now that HDTVs and Media Center PCs have become commonplace.
Regular controllers
motion controllers=LAME
I don't really care about the price as long as they don't do a Sony if u know what I mean. And do what gears did with the destouble eviorment *cough* Callo of duty didn't.
